MAX FINAL

I'd like to create an interactive web site that includes panning, where a visitor could drag a "person" from the left to the right of the screen and experience sounds the way they would (or as close as one can get through a computer) in person if they were walking from one speaker to another.

This is part of a larger project we are creating for an organization called Bridges-4-Life for PIMA 7020. There will be a live installation that incorporates Arduinos on two opposing walls, one on the ceiling and one on the floor, creating a kind of "bridge" with two sides, the sky above, and the water below. The Arduinos will be triggered by motion sensors when a viewer is nearby. We want to recreate this experience for viewers who visit the Bridges-4-life.com website.

My vision is that there would be a "body" (much like the gifs shared in the JavaScript lesson) that can be moved by the visitors. The movement would trigger the playing of sounds as well as the panning of sounds. The physical show will also have descriptions of the project and places to donate as visual references, so this site should incorporate descriptions and links in a creative way.

My main question is how panning can be virtual through the web and whether sounds can be triggered through the movement of a mouse as opposed to the click of a button.
